Referred to as the H-Blocks (because of their H-shape), about 10 of these identically cut blocks have been uncovered so far. With the surface as smooth as a mirror, the 1.5 ton (!) blocks were cut from incredibly hard igneous rock. In order to replicate similar blocks today, we'd have to use sophisticated diamond drilling machines, as opposed to the "chicken bones" and "bronze tools" modern-day archaeologists suggest were used to create these blocks in ancient times. It turns out that when multiple blocks are placed together, they interlock like Legos, building an impenetrable wall. An impenetrable wall for what?
